Dr. Dixon Golden

Dr. Dixon Golden is a graduate of University of Houston College of
Optometry (1977). During that time he was a member of the Golden Key
International Optometric Honor Society; Beta Sigma Kappa International
Optometric Honor Fraternity.  He is currently licensed as an Optometric
Glaucoma Specialist in both Texas and Louisiana.  He was named Alumni
of the Year in 2008 and served on the Foundation for Vision Board since
2006.  Since 2003, Dr. Golden has served as an Adjunct Clinical Professor
and has hosted over 40 student interns for both University of Houston
College of Optometry and the University of the Incarnate Word College of
Optometry.
Dr. Golden has also served on several other boards, including the Texas
Optometric Association from 2003 to 2006; the Governor appointed
chairman of the Texas Optometry Board; Center ISD Board from 1998 and
as Chairman from 2008-2015; Shelby Savings Bank from 2011.  
Dr. Golden has operated private practices specializing in the diagnosis and
treatment of eye disease since 1978 and opened DeSoto Regional Eye
Institute in Logansport, Louisiana in 2015, offering the latest in therapeutic
laser surgery.
