Fellowship in AAOMS
Fellowship can be obtained in the AAOMS by providing and showcasing excellence and achievement through patient care and procedures performed.
Requirements
Fellowship Qualifications
Approved Training Course
Completion of a high level training course as approved by the AAOMS Board
Clinical Experience
Having performed laser and/or surgical procedures in a clinical setting on actual patients
Peer Support
Having support of two individuals performing laser and/or surgical procedures, one of which must be a current member of the AAOMS
Documented Procedures
Submission of documentation and proof of procedures performed (see minimums below)
Application Fee
Submission of the initial application fee ($225)

Applicants must submit documentation and proof of the following procedures performed. You must meet at least ONE of the following minimums:
Final Step
Oral Examination
Following the submission of your application and verification of requirements by the AAOMS application committee, you will be required to sit for and pass a virtual or in-person oral examination defending your submitted work and application. Following successful passage of the oral examination, the Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometric Medicine and Surgery (FAAOMS) will be granted.
